What I Do

I'm a DJ. I play music for people to dance and/or get drunk to, normally at very high volume levels. I'm also an experienced radio presenter.

Background & Previous Experience

I started DJing in 2002, with a specialist dance show on University Radio York. I started doing university events in 2004 and the following year DJ'd at nearly every major Students' Union event. I mainly did warm-up for nationally recognised acts (e.g. Colin Murray, Edith Bowman, Scott Mills, DJ Spooney, etc) or performed as a second stage/bar DJ as an alternative to cheesier/more commercial acts (e.g. Liberty X, S Club 7, etc).

In 2005 I also started a fortnightly Saturday night residency at Ha!Ha! Bar (now 'All Bar One'), York, playing funky/lounge house to young professionals in a trendy bar/restaurant setting. I played back-to-back with other DJs and between us we took the venue from averagely busy to having crowds queue as far down the street as the eye could see every Saturday night. Later that year I also started doing mainroom warmup at local Luminar Leisure nightclub Toffs (now 'Tokyo') every Thursday.

I've been out of DJing for a while and am looking to get back into it, mainly as a hobby. I will gladly play most venues for free, given a few free drinks and taxi fare, as I love playing great music to people who enjoy it.
